Lady Patriots off to 4-1 start

The Lady Patriots of Winston Academy have jumped out to a 4-1 start to the 2009-2010 season with the only setback being an overtime loss to Lamar School in the Kemper Academy Preseason Tournament.

WA head girls coach Steve Roberts said he liked what he was seeing out of his team thus far.

The Lady Patriots opened the tournament with a 35-28 win over host Kemper, followed by the 54-48 loss to Lamar. Winston closed out the tournament with a 43-37 win over Central Academy.

Last week Winston rolled over Calhoun 61-43, before taking a 45-30 win over Immanuel.

No results were reported for the WA boys team as they opened their season last week.

The Patriots and Lady Patriots were set to host Central Academy on Tuesday, before hosting Hebron Christian on Thursday. After taking the Thanksgiving Holiday off, Winston is set to visit Calhoun on Nov. 30.
