The Winston County Journal

The Winston County Chamber of Commerce and Main Street committees are in a full roll as the date of the 6th Annual Veterans Day Parade and Stew Stomp approaches.

As part of the annual event, Frank Stewart Pottery in conjunction with the Winston County Chamber of Commerce and Main Street has created a unique stew mug for the annual event. The chamber will have 40 of the commerative stew mugs available for purchase through the Chamber.

"These are mugs designed specifically for the event," said Frank Stewart as he molded one of the mugs.

Stewart noted that November and December is always one of the busiest times for his business and the gift shop located on Bond Road has many new and unique items for sale for the upcoming season.

The event is set for Saturday, November 7 and will contain a full slate of activities.

Presently, the day begins at 7 am with a Pancake Breakfast at the First Methodist Church and their annual Bazaar beginning at 7:30am.

The veterans attending the event are invited to coffee and snacks at the Chamber of Commerce building starting at 9:30 a.m. The parade lineup will begin shortly afterward.
