MSU AD to speak today

Mississippi State University's Athletic Director is set to speak at Lake Tiak O'Khata today (Wednesday, Sept. 23) at noon as part of the 2009 Rotary Program.

MSU Athletic Director Greg Byrne took over the MSU Athletic program in the summer of 2008 after Larry Templeton retired. Byrne had been served as associate athletic director for development and external affairs since 2006. Byrne will speak on a variety of MSU, professional and personal related topics.

Any interested person in attending the event are welcomed by the Rotary Club of Louisville. The club meets each Wednesday at noon in Lake Tiak O' Khata.

Rotary is a volunteer organization with over 32,000 clubs in over 200 countries and geographical areas. The organization initiates humanitarian programs that address today's challenging issues, such as hunger, poverty, and illiteracy. The Louisville Club will soon be supporting a local Between the Lions literacy program along with other community oriented efforts.

Rotary club members represent a cross-section of business and professional leaders worldwide. These 1.2 million men and women donate their expertise, time, and funds to support local and international projects that help people in need and promote understanding among cultures. The Louisville Rotary Club has about 40 members.

Rotary's flagship program is its effort to protect children against polio, with the goal of ending the disease throughout the world.
