The theme of the event was Educational Challenge: Examining Varieties in Learning. Dianell Carter served as the Mistress of Ceremonies. Julie Chase from the Winston County Library provided a puppet show and magic tricks for the children. Regional Head Start director Mattie Cooper greeted the crowd and noted the city proclamation honoring Head Start from Mayor Daniel "Moe" Yarbrough who was unable to attend.
