The Winston County Head Start closed out Black History Month on February 28 with a "Torch for the Future" program.

The program featured all the classes at the Head Start and catered to an over packed conference room full of parents, grandparents and other visitors.

Winston County Head Start County administrator Mattie Cooper thanked all those who attended and added that with the community's support and a grant from the federal government the center may achieve having a new building to better house the operations and such events.

The program highlighted Martin Luther King's "I have a Dream", the story of Rosa Parks, local role models, and other significant persons in the history of Civil Rights.
