Job seekers may peruse hundreds of openings during the East Central Job Fair 2007 on Thursday, August 30 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Neshoba County Coliseum.
The job fair is part of the Governor's Job Fair network and is sponsored by the Mississippi Department of Employment Security, WIN Job Centers, East Central Community College, Winston County Economic Development Partnership, the Neshoba Community Development Partnership, Leake County Development Association, Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians, and Mid-Mississippi Development District. The fair will feature more than 60 employers. The fair will include many job areas including accounting, computer operations, law enforcement, diesel mechanics, education, electronics, engineering, poultry plant management, riverboat operations, truck driving and many more positions.
Additionally, job seekers will not only have the opportunity to network with businesses, but also will receive information on trades, schools and education from community resource agencies.
Some employers hiring at the fair are AAI Corporation, AT & T, Avon Independent, 1st Class Pipe Fitters, Gulfport Police, Kirby Inland Marine, Mid South Sign Association, The Taylor Group, Inc., Tulane University and many more.
The 2006 job fair resulted in 218 hirings with employers receiving about 500 applications.
"We expect this to be an excellent opportunity for job seekers to find employment and employers to fill needed positions," said Joe Buckner, Director of Governor's Job Fair network.
