The Louisville Board of Aldermen handled a lengthy agenda July 3 with a strong contingent of citizens in the audience.
The board scheduled a special July 10 meeting to handle the special election. (See related story City Election).
The board members also set August 7 at 5:30 as the date of the city budget hearing. Board members will examine the upcoming 2007-08 budget along with any needed change, additions and revenue needs.
In other matters for the meeting, the board:
Approved $3,349 payment for Works Compensation
Approved $99,603.40 in docket of claims
Took under advisement until July 10 an appointment to the Historic Preservation Board to replace Jeff Fulton whose term has expired.
Recognized Elmer Coleman and Stacy Thames for their hard work and improvements to Academy Park. A formal proclamation of recognition is set for a future date.
Accepted a bid on first hay cutting of city property on Ivy in order. Advertising for bids on future cutting is ongoing.
Acknowledged state audit report of the city.
Accepted resignation of police officer Patrick Estes from LPD as he goes to MHP training.
Approved advertising for bidding on property on Short Hight.
Noted Larry McCulloch would need to seek a request of a variance to have trailer connected to utilities in the area of his property.
