50th Annual Chamber Banquet on tap for Feb. 22

The Winston County Economic Development District Partnership will celebrate the successes and people of Winston County February 22 at the annual Winston County Chamber Banquet.

Tickets for the event are on sale now and maybe purchased at the Chamber or from any board member.

The event will feature a night of awards including Man and Woman of the Year, Life Time Achievement Award, Tree Farmer of the Year, Farmer of the Year, Retailer of the Year, and Industry of the Year.

"This will be a great celebration and an extremely good time to see the chamber at work," said 2006 Chamber President Bruce Lee.

As part of the event, the East Central Community College Accents will be performing.

Nominations for the awards were deadlined on January 19.

The guidelines for the awards are as follows:

€ Life Time Achievement Award may go to a man or a woman. It is based on lifetime contributions toward making Winston County a better place to live and work.

This award may not be awarded each year and cannot be received twice by any one person. This award will be highest award given in Winston County.

The Winston County Economic Development District Partnership sponsors this award. The award winner will be selected by former Man and Woman of the Year members until at least 5 winners are recognized, then these winners will become selection committee. The award will be presented, when awarded, at Annual Chamber Banquet

€ Man and Woman of the Year Award is based on contributions made during the previous 12 month period toward making Winston County a better place to live and work. It can be won more than one time and will be awarded each year.

The Man of the Year award is sponsored by the Winston County Journal and will be presented at the Annual Chamber Banquet, which is set for Feb. 22. Pilot Club of Louisville sponsors the Woman of the Year Award.

The awards will put emphasis on achievements made during previous 12-month period but lifetime achievements will be noted. Former Man and Woman of the Year Winners will select the winners of the award.
