Door of Hope holds Bible study

Every Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. the Door of Hope Center (located at 307 North Church) has a Bible study and invites the public to participate. Sister Rose Thompson will be the Bible teacher and discussion leader.

Door of Hope to have chapel services

Every Thursday at 6:00 p.m., the Door of Hope Center has a non-denominational worship service. All non-pastoring ministers and evangelists are invited to preach. This is an opportunity to grow and mature in expounding and delivering the Gospel message. Mt. Vernon to hold summer revival

Mt. Vernon Summer Revival and Refreshing will continue August 23-24, 2006, at 7:30 p.m. nightly. The revival evangelist will be Rev. Joe B. Glass, the associate minister at Mt. Vernon.

Girl Scouts to hold recruitment drive

The Girl Scouts of Winston County will hold their annual recruitment drive on August 24 in Nanih Waiya and on August 31 in Louisville in an effort to reach even more girls and make meetings easier to attend. For more information contact Alicia Cole.

Godly living

conferences to be held

Conferences for youth and parents on godly living will be offered at South Louisville Baptist Church and Wess Chapel Baptist Church August 26 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Register by calling 773-3032. Conference fees are $39 for girls, $15 for ladies, $25 for guys, and $10 for men. Fees include cost of lunch, t-shirt and goodies.

Adcock family to hold annual reunion

The descendant of Elzie and Ardella Adcock, formerly of Winston County, will have a family reunion Saturday, August 26, 2006, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Old Longino Gymnasium outside Philadelphia on Old Hwy. 15 North. All family members are encouraged to be there to visit with family and friends. Bring a covered dish and enjoy getting reacquainted.

Mother/Daughter Tea Fundraiser set

The Winston Baptist Association will hold a Mother/Daughter Tea Fundraiser Saturday, August 27, 2006, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. for 5th to 8th grade girls. The guest speaker will be Rita Sweat, who will speak on the topic 'Being Your Best, Inside & Out.' Cost is $20 for adult/girl and $5 for additional girl. Limited seating is available. Family Center to host open house

The Louisville Municipal School Family Center will have Open House on Thursday, August 31, 2006, from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.

Barbra Eichelberger and Marie Livingston will do presentations on available resources.

Macedonia to host fundraiser

Macedonia Baptist Church is having a fundraiser Saturday, September 2, 2006, at Wal-Mart parking lot. They will be serving hamburgers, chips, and Little Debbie cakes for $5.00 a plate. M&I College to begin fall classes

Freetrade Church to hold conference
