Citizens of District 1 and District 4 of the Louisville Municipal School District will go to the polls March 4 to select their representatives on the school board.
In District 1, Claire Crowell, who presently serves on the board after her recent appointment will be seeking to gain the seat through the election process. She will be facing Todd McCullough and James McKay, Sr.
In District, Charles Holmes will face Cathy Edwards for the full term of the position. Larry L. Baker who presently serves in that position is not seeking reelection.
The LMSD school board is presently made up of Jerry W. Webb, President; Dr. W Mark Donald, Vice President; Larry L. Baker, Secretary; Dan Parkes, Assistant Secretary; and Claire Crowell, Member
To help voters understand the election and gain insight into the candidates, the membership of the Winston County Voters League is sponsoring a School Board Candidates Forum for the general public on February 11, 2006.
The Candidates Forum will start at 11:30A.M. at the Court House in the Court Room. Candidates will be allowed to speak briefly to define their candidacy and to outline what they hope to accomplish if elected.
The regular monthly League meeting will be held at 10:00 A.M. at the League Building on Vance Street. All members are asked to be present and persons interested in joining the League are welcome. The meeting will adjourn in time for all to attend the School Board Candidates Forum in the Court Room.
Please use this opportunity to meet and hear the candidates so that everyone may be an informed voter on the 1st Saturday in March.
