Less than a month after an Oct. 14 drug roundup and bust, over two-dozen suspects have been arrested and jailed with more arrest anticipated.

An almost year long investigation resulted in the 26 arrests along with confiscation of cash, drugs and weapons by the Louisville Police Department, Winston County Sheriff's Office, and Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics.

The combined agencies' investigation culminated in 23 arrest warranties. The Louisville Police Department, Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, Attorney General office, Winston County Sheriff's office, Mississippi Bureau of Investigation and Mississippi Highway Patrol made 26 arrests and have served 22 of the warranties. The officers made 4 additional drug arrests besides the warranties while pursing the case. The warranties were related to undercover investigation conducted by several of the departments over the past months.

The primary drugs involved included crack cocaine, crystal methamphetamine and marijuana with seizures of the drugs occurring during the arrest. All of the 26 drug charges are felonies. Arrests are for multiple sale counts of cocaine and marijuana, as well as for possession of precursors utilized in the manufacture of methamphetamine.

Louisville Police Chief Ricky Peterson expects this bust is going to make a significant difference since these were street level violators and it will have an impact on availability of drugs in this area.

"A good prosecution of these cases will also be of a significant help," Peterson said. "We are like many places and do have a drug problem because any drugs are too much but we are in better shape than a lot of places. We are addressing the problem."

More arrests are anticipated with this ongoing investigation.

The 22 suspects arrested on warranties included: Johnny 'Snapper' Miller, Tyrone Jones, Kentyia Miller, Chris Miller, Sara Wragg, Marcus Eiland, Robert Pleas, Marvin Dash, Henry McNeese, Kentrall Curtis, Larry Mays Jr., Jimmy C. Miller, April Hoskins, Shushona Hunt, James David Dunaway, Jamie Miller, Kelvin Miller, Reginald Moore, Larry Moore, Selentro Miller, Chris White and Tony Frazier. Eleven of the suspects are presently out on bond and awaiting trial. The other suspects are being held at the Winston/Choctaw County Regional Correctional Facility while awaiting trial.
