The Louisville Municipal School District Board of Trustees and Superintendent will examine nominees for the Nanih Waiya representative of the board in its next meeting after tackling a lengthy agenda in its Sept. 14 board meeting.

The board is set to review the four nominees for the Nanih Waiya post and appointment one to the board. The Nanih Waiya seat was vacated when board member Gale Gregory was elected to the state legislature as House District 43 Representative.

The trustees approved tax collection agreements with Winston County and the City of Louisville after discussing the city's increase in fees versus what other school districts pay for tax collection.

The trustees also examined the recently released school test data and the changes and effects each school.

"We are moving in the right direction in most areas," said Superintendent Harry Kemp when addressing the test scores.

The trustees also examined zoning data for school within the district and held an executive session the matter since it could be a possible litigation situation.

In other matters the trustees:

€ Received an award for Louisville High School's 75 years as a Southern Association of Colleges and Schools member and maintaining standards to meet the requirements of the group for 75 years.

€ Approved the financial report for the schools.

€ Approved the use of federal grants for several Title I through Title VI programs in the schools.
