The Winston County Library is hosting a display of information highlighting World Breastfeeding Week which began Aug. 1. The Mississippi WIC Breastfeeding Program, The African American Breastfeeding Alliance and La Leche League are among the organizations represented.

Louisville Early Intervention Program provides services to children, ages birth through three, who demonstrate developmental delays, or who are at risk of developing delays due to health or other complications. Based upon a developmental evaluation provided by the EIP staff, services are provided according to individual needs and may include educational services, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech/language therapy, parent training and support, behavioral intervention and transition to school. Winston County Complete Head Start will have their open house on Friday, August 20 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. All parents are asked to come and meet their child's teacher. School will open Monday, Aug. 23.

Make a Wish Foundation Fundraiser will be held Aug. 21, at 2 p.m. The event is sponsored by the Masonic Organization for more information call 773-8486 or 773-8560 after 5 p.m. BBQ plates and gospel singing will be part of the fundraiser.

Betheden Volunteer Fire Department will hold a Benefit Supper for Hubert "Boozie" Livingston, who had heart surgery and is beginning his fifth week in restorative care, at 6 p.m. Aug. 21 at the fire department. Spaghetti plates will be $5 each, and a cake walk will be held after supper. All proceeds will go to the Livingston family.

Total Praise Ministry will host an "Attack on Satan" weekend at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church. Friday, Aug. 27 at 7 p.m. will be a spiritual breakthrough service, with Evangelist Shamara Brown of Peter's Rock as the guest speaker.

On Saturday, Aug. 28, Total Praise Ministry will host their annual Gospel Choir Workshop featuring Doris Thigpen of the nationally-recognized Mississippi Mass Choir. Registration will be from 8-10 a.m. and the workshop will last from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., with a concert at 6 p.m.
