The Governor's Job Fair Network of Mississippi is sponsoring the East Central Mississippi Job Fair at the Neshoba County Coliseum in Philadelphia.
The Job Fair will be held on Thursday, February 12 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is open to the public with free admission. About 40 employers will be on hand for the job fair. The job fair will offer opportunities in accounting, administration, computer operations, corrections, law enforcement, diesel mechanics, education, electronics, engineering, food service, truck driving and much more.
Gerald Mills, Winston County Economic Development Director, noted WCDEP had joined with the other counties in order to help draw a strong pool of employers.
Mills advised job seekers would need to register when they arrive at the coliseum.
Some of the employers expected at the event include Georgia-Pacific of Taylorsville, AAI Corporation , Ace Training Center Inc, Applied Geo Technologies Inc, Averitt Express, Avon, Avon Independent Sales Representative, Branson Enterprises, Canal Barge Company, Inc., CEFCO, Cornell Company, and Walnut Grove Youth Correctional Facility.
Transportation will be available for Winston Leake, Newton, and Scott Counties. Designated pick up areas are as follows: Carthage - Dirt Cheap, Edinburg - Chevron, Louisville - Louisville Coliseum, Forest - Vowell's Market, Sebastopol - Central Electric's new facility, Newton - ESCO Park, Decatur - EC Softball facility, Union- Laird Complex. Shuttle buses will depart Carthage, Forest, Louisville, and Newton promptly at 8:30 a.m. making stops at the other designated areas on the route to Philadelphia.

To help those going to the job fair and others seeking jobs in the local area, ECCC will assist in resume writing, job application, and job interview sessions. The program is being offered at East Central Community College's Integrated Technologies Training Center in Choctaw for the recent dislocated workers from the Golden Moon and Taylor Machine Works.
The free sessions will be held on Monday, February 9, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Tuesday, February 10, from 9 a.m. to Noon. ECCC's Workforce Development Staff will be sponsoring the sessions.
